Friends, if you haven’t heard about essential oils, you may be living in a cave. Am I right? Essential oils are getting a lot of attention lately…and for good reason. I started using essential oils about five years ago, when I was suffering from the worst sinus infection ever. I was pregnant with our sixth baby at the time, and didn’t want to use antibiotics, so I went on the hunt for something natural. And that started me and my family on our journey to wellness.
We have since thrown away all our chemicals in our home and disposed of any over the counter medications we had. In the last 6 years, not only has our health has improved tremendously, but we have seen our mindset change, our finances improve, and so much more!
If you know me at all, you know I am a big proponent for simple, natural living. I am not perfect by any means, but I do what I can, when I can. When I first started with essential oils, I did tons of research. I read books and articles and read and listened to anything I could get my hands on. I wanted to be absolutely sure I was doing the best thing for my family.
Where Do You Buy Your Oils?
You can pretty much walk into any store and find essential oils now. The thing is…you don’t know what is actually in the bottle you are buying. They may smell good, but they can have harmful fillers, synthetic chemicals added, they may use high heat or high pressure when they remove the essential oils from the plants or a variety of other things that would make me NOT want to put that product on my skin or in my body. In fact, many of these products will have a “do not ingest” or “not for topical use” on the bottle.
>>>WHY NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO JOIN YOUNG LIVING<<<
Then there are essential oils that come directly from the plants, that are extracted with LOW heat and LOW pressure so that the oils are not damaged, that do not have harmful chemicals added during the extraction process, that are grown in the right soil in the right conditions, and that are thoroughly tested for their therapeutic qualities.
Those are the oils that actually can benefit my family’s health and wellness. I prefer quality, straight from the source essential oils. I always find it funny when people think of essential oils as a “new age” trend when you can read about essential oils throughout the Bible!
HOW I USE MY ESSENTIAL OILS
I started using essential oils in the Spring of 2015 and have been using essential oils, and essential oil infused products DAILY since then. And our family has never been healthier.
Essential oils can help with things like:
• A restful night’s sleep
• Arthritis pain
• Inflammation
• Digestive support
• Weight loss
• Minor muscle and joint aches
• Support for the respiratory system
• Bruises and sprains
• Coughs & Sore Throats
• Supporting a healthy immune system (AND our kids!)
• Support for healthy blood pressure and healthy blood sugar (already in a healthy range)
• Cognitive support and focus
• Supporting normal cellular growth
• And SO MUCH more!
If you are interested in getting started with essential oils for your family, you have a couple of options.
Option 1 (MY RECOMMENDATION):
You can get started as a Young Living wholesale member and get one of the Premium Starter Kits. The starter kit has the essential oils that EVERYONE needs in their home and comes with an amazing diffuser and other goodies.
Also, when you are a wholesale member then you get access to our exclusive FUN Facebook group to help you in your essential oils journey!
When I got started, I bought the Premium Starter Kit, and I’m so glad that I did! That is your best bang for your buck!
There is absolutely no obligation to sell anything when you buy a starter kit. You are a wholesale member and get the benefit of a 24% discount for any future products that you decide to buy! You have the option of sharing about the products with others and getting a “Thank You” check from Young Living, but it’s certainly not a requirement.
OPTION 2:
We have a few other options to fit any budget! Seriously! While I highly recommend the Premium Starter Kit, I know that isn’t always possible and I would rather everyone has an opportunity to get these oils in their home!

NEED HELP?
The world of essential oils can be confusing, especially when you first get started, so I’m here to help you and walk with you in your journey. We often chat essential oils in our Simply Oily Mamasand the Almost Crunchy Mama IG. With 7 kids, a home business, pets, a farmhouse, a husband who doesn’t like to stop…I have some experience with what works and what doesn’t!

December 29, 2016 at 7:36 amA virus made its way through our house recently and after almost two weeks of dealing with it, I headed to bed and made a chest rub with my Breathe blend. (I was starting to have a heavy, funny feeling in my chest and was worried about bronchitis) After that day I felt better!

December 29, 2016 at 11:45 amI LOVE my essential oils. I have gone to creating my own combos because I have sensitivities to certain ones. Yesterday I put peppermint, cinnamon bark, and wintergreen in a roller bottle with some coconut oil and I am loving it! I worked at the computer all day but every time I started to get a pain somewhere I would roll it on and it was gone!

November 13, 2018 at 10:39 amI definitely hear the comments about essential oils being hippy dippy, but now I am going to combat it with “um, they used them during Biblical times too, ya know!” I love my lavender and Jasmine oils! They literally work wonders. I’m not a fan of prescription pills either. Essential oils are really worth their weight in gold. ❤️
