My Favorite Podcasts for Christian Women

Podcasts for Christian Women, Christian mothers

I listen to a podcast almost daily. I hardly ever wear headphones, which means most of the time I’m listening, my children are also listening. We know that what we fill our minds with each day is what will eventually come out of our mouths.

Romans 10:17 tells us this: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” What we listen to has the power to deepen or weaken our faith. That is why it is important that we be discerning about the words and music we listen to, knowing that what we hear will develop into what we believe and how we live.

And if we have children, it is even more important to be mindful about what those little ears hear, as we are shaping their future thoughts and beliefs.

I normally listen to podcasts when I get ready in the morning, when I’m Bible journaling, or doing daily tasks like the dishes or folding laundry. I save my daily reading for when I’m sitting down to nurse the baby or winding down at night. Listening to truth, wisdom, and encouragement is one way I’ve learned to look forward to doing mundane tasks, because I know that at the same time I am filling my heart with words of wisdom. Below are several podcasts that I have loved listening to these past few months and years, and I hope they encourage you to fill your ears with truth!

I frequently share what I’m listening to over on Instagram, so make sure to connect with me over there!

PODCASTS FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN:

Telling the Truth with the Briscoes

I discovered Jill Briscoe through IF:Gathering this year and found her podcast. I have really enjoyed her teachings!

Flower Mound Women’s Bible Study by Jen Wilkin

Jen Wilkin’s Bible study at the Village Church is available for free via podcast. You can walk through an entire book of the Bible with her and find previous podcasts. I highly recommend these!

Live Well Anyway

MacKenzie is just the sweetest! She chats motherhood, health, planning, routines, books and more. She brings a lot of guests on her show, which is fun. She’s always so encouraging and motivational.

Help me Teach the Bible with Nancy Guthrie

I highly recommend this podcast even if you don’t consider yourself one who teaches the Bible (although as moms, we all teach!). As a disciple of Jesus Christ, knowing how to study the Word is vital and this podcast will equip you to do so!

Risen Motherhood by Laura Wifler and Emily Jensen

If you are a mom, or if you work with young children, this podcast if for you. Laura and Emily keep these podcasts short to fit into a mom’s busy schedule (perfect for doing the dishes!), but they are packed with truth and encouragement!

Inspired to Action with Kat Lee

I would say that this podcast is definitely geared more towards moms but it’s very encouraging and inspiring for anyone! I find that I get a lot of good, practical take aways from this podcast.

Revive Our Hearts by Nancy Leigh Wolgemuth

The Revive Our Hearts daily podcast is one of my favorites. I’ve listened to Nancy’s teaching for years. This daily podcast is about 25 minutes long and is packed with truth! There have been times I have had to stop what I was doing just to get out my Bible and journal and study along with Nancy.

HomeMaking Foundations With Jami Balmet

I don’t listen to this one as frequently as some of the others, but I adore Jami and do find her encouraging and a breath of fresh air. I have been a reader of her blog for years now!

At Home with Sally Clarkson

I love Sally Clarkson, I really do. I have all her books and wish I could sit down to have tea with her. This podcast is probably the one that got me into podcasts in the first place. I always walk away feeling encouraged as a homemaker, as a mom, and as a child of God.

Modern Homemakers by Donna Otto

I love and appreciate Donna Otto’s wisdom. Her book Finding a Mentor, Being a Mentor is one of my very favorite books on the topics of mentoring and relationships. Donna covers all kinds of topics in her podcast, you will love it! NOTE: This podcast used to be called Homemakers by Choice.

Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson

I only recently started listening to Dr. James Dobson, because I enjoy his books, but I have been encouraged through the wisdom that he shares in parenting and marriage.

The Busy Mom by Heidi St. John

This podcast is one that is aimed towards moms, as Heidi has a large family. But Heidi brings so much Biblical wisdom and insight into this podcast. I try to listen to as many of her episodes as I can!

Glorious in the Mundane with Christy Nockels

I found this last year because I was attracted to the title, and quickly fell in love with it! Christy has a beautiful way with words and teaches powerful truth from Scripture and from example.

Courageous Parenting

Children are not a BURDEN, but a BLESSING.

This message is at odds with the culture today. We believe God is calling us to stir up good works among God’s people, specifically on this topic. We believe that the season we are in, with eight children ranging in ages baby to 18, enables us to speak to relevant issues parents deal with today because while we have older children and had to deal with making many hard decisions, for example, we are still raising young children at the same time.

Thankful Homemaker

This podcast aims to provide encouragement to us in the roles that God has called us to as women, wives, and mothers.

The Proverbs 31 Ministries

If you are familiar with this ministry, you’ll understand why you may enjoy this podcast. Apply biblical wisdom to your current season of life — whether you’re in your twenties or eighties.

Hear from Lysa Teurkeurst and others on all kinds of real life issues. I have found quite a few episodes to be very helpful and encouraging!

I enjoy podcasts too! I subscribe to most of those. I also like Simply Joyful, Your morning basket, mommy Jammie’s, making biblical life practical. I love read-aloud revival and the homeschool sanity show, they are more about school obviously. Keys for kids has great short episodes for kids.

So many podcasts to check out. I know so many other bloggers who love listening to them, I just haven’t yet. These would be good since I could have them on with little ears around.

Thank you so much for sharing these!! I’ve been looking for some good life giving podcasts.. I tend to be attracted to secular, mystery podcasts for the entertainment value. And I often find myself feeling a little empty when I indulge in those.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems as if majority of these podcasts are geared towards moms or homemakers. This article should have been called My Favorite Podcasts for Christian mom’s/homemakers. I normally look for christian podcast recommendations that aren’t just for women, but when I decided to try, this is the result. I’m glad for those of you in these positions to benefit from these specific podcasts toward you. But that is not all women &I feel like I don’t fit in because I’m not a mom or homemaker (yet). I just felt this article title is misleading and was hoping to find podcasts that encompasses all types of women at all different phases of life. The search continues…
