Give The Gift Of Higher Education This Year

We have all had those times where we really wanted to give a meaningful gift to a family or child, but were at a loss on what to give. I know as a large family mom myself, I shudder when the holiday season comes around and my kids start getting things that they may play with for a moment, but that will end up in the back of the closet soon enough.

This post is sponsored by Virginia529 but all opinions and ideas are always my own.

I look for gifts that I can give that will be meaningful, helpful, creative, and long lasting – without the clutter. It can definitely take some creativity to come up with the perfect gift with these requirements, but I have managed to be quite successful at it over the years!

This year, I am looking into giving gifts that keep on giving. One gift idea that I will be using this year is Invest529 gift cards. It may seem a little strange, but hear me out, mamas!

I have spent the last ten years educating my children at home, and have many more years to go. Education is a huge priority in our family. While I will  not force my children to go to college, I will strongly guide them towards their choice, while keeping their natural gifts and strengths in mind. As a mom to seven, higher education will likely be quite costly! We have been saving for years now, but are no where close to what we may actually need to send all our children to college. This is what made me consider giving

I didn’t know they had gift cards for this! Can they be used for trade schools and education supplies (college books, computers, etc?)

Education is such a wonderful opportunity. It’s not so much as the end game of a degree but the learning along the way.

I don’t celebrate Christmas but I can see how this would be good for birthdays and other special occasions! I’m also not pushing college either because from the looks of it, self-started businesses are a way of the future (unless they want to be a doctor or something)… But whatever they cost, having the monetary support will be awesome!

This is such a great idea! I didn’t know you could buy gift cards for a 529 plan — they really would make a great gift for your kids.
