Homeschool Conferences in New England

Homeschool Convention season is upon us! This tends to be one of the more exciting seasons for us homeschoolers – and with good reason! The abundance of curriculum, expert speakers, the refreshment and fellowship with like minded people… it’s all so invigorating! Homeschool convenion are a great place to find encouragement, motivation and strength for the days and years ahead.

One of the things we look forward to the most is usually all the homeschool curriculum! We can peruse at length and talk to the vendors, shop in person or create a list to shop online later on. I find it so helpful to have the ability to open books that I would normally only see online, maybe in a table of content format. You may also be able to watch demonstrations with certain curriculum, which add to your knowledge and excitement.

Lynn Hogan, a long-time homeschooler whose children grown up, attended conventions for many years as a vendor and a homeschool mom. She wrote a three=part series on “How to Make the Most of Homeschool Conventions” which is a great way to prepare yourself before you go to a conference.

Make sure to pin this post for later and share it with your homeschool communities. Because New England does not offer an abundance of homeschool conferences, I did go a bit outside these states and included the NORTHEAST states to offer you more options. Enjoy!

So nice to see that homeschooling has really taken off in New England. There are few things as revitalizing as attending a Homeschool Conference! The encouragement that comes from such events is unmatched.

How fantastic that there are conferences for families who homeschool their children! As a former elementary school teacher, I agree with you about finding resources online. Often way too difficult to decide on curriculum pieces when you can’t physically see the products. I always appreciated being able to look at materials and books when vendors came to our district. Great that so many of these states have conferences as well!
