5 Simple Ways To Make Your Mornings Brighter

This post is sponsored by The Hillshire Brands Company. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own.

Mornings with lots of little ones can be chaotic. Add homeschooling into that mix and chaos can easily reign over the day, if you let it. Over the years I have learned how important it is to have a solid morning routine that sets up your day for success. Of course, this doesn’t always go as planned, because I am a mom with lots of children and life happens. But, having a plan in place and remaining flexible are keys to making mornings brighter.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR MORNINGS BRIGHTER

1.WAKE UP BEFORE YOUR KIDS – I start with this one, because it is easily the hardest. I will remind you, I have seven children. My youngest is still nursing. I have woken up through the night for almost 15 years, so I understand that waking up before your children can be almost impossible. But it can be done, and once you commit to it, you will reap the benefits! You can read how I wake before my children if you’d like some tips.

2. SET THE TONE – When you wake up early, you will obviously feel groggy and sleepy. I light a candle or two in the morning, and put on some soft background music. I love the soft glow of candles, and the peaceful music as I start my day.

3. HAVE SOME PERSONAL TIME – This may look different for everyone. I start my day with prayer and Bible study, and then I read a bit of my personal development book. If I still have time before the children wake up, I will get in a quick workout and take a shower.

4. HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE – As moms, we know our days will get chaotic at some point, so having plan in place is instrumental. I live by my planner. Each morning, after my quiet time, I will plan out my day in my planner. I make sure to write down my to-do list as well as our intended schedule for the day. I like to think of this as my “brain dump.” If everything is written down, I don’t have to worry about forgetting something in my mom brain.

5. FIX A SIMPLE BREAKFAST – Some days, I fix a big breakfast. Some days. Most of the time, I like having a quick, simple breakfast that we can take on the go if needed. Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® breakfast cups are the perfect option. Everyone loves them, and they only take
minutes to fix. My children and I follow different diets, so Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles breakfast cups are such a convenient option for all of us. We found them in the refrigerated aisle of our local Walmart, so I am sure you can easily locate them at your store. We love the Bacon flavor and the Sausage flavor, but there are others as well. The key is to prepare a quick, wholesome breakfast that will brighten up your mornings.

And there you have it! Simple ways you can make your mornings brighter! If you have any other tips to start your mornings off right, I would love to hear them!

I always wake up before my daughter and my husband. Sometimes I wake up at 4 in the morning and then I get busy on my blog. I absolutely love and value my alone time in the morning. Peace and quiet and it allows me to focus.
Those breakfast cups are probably quite good. This is my first time hearing about them. I love simplicity!

Wake up before my children…. oh boy. I know that I need to do this because I need that time to get ready for their crazy but it’s so hard in the Winter! Luckily the days are getting longer. I do make steel cut or quick oats every morning (or rather, their dad does while I make lunches), but I am planning on making them in the Instant Pot ahead of time and reheating for a quicker breakfast. Good tips!
